Na 25-tym International Blues Challenge w Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A. Polska, jako jedyny (poza U.S.A., of course!) kraj będzie reprezentowana we wszystkich kategoriach, czyli:
Kategoria Band: Boogie Boys
Solo/Duo: Chicago Blues Revue
Youth Showcase: (Nadzieje Bluesa?): Little Boogie Slim & Kurson. Na tym forum nie trzeba wyjasniać, że w konkursie solo/duo i w Youth Showcase występuja ci sami Blues Boys, czyli Witek "Bad Boy Jones" Bielski - piano, guitar, vocal i Antek "Kurson" Kurek - harmonijki. Ze względu na młody wiek (Witek - 17, Antek - 19) moga wystapić w obu kategoriach, przy czym Youth Showcase nie jest w tym roku konkursem, a wyłacznie promocyjnym show.

Dodatkowo przyznawana jest nagroda dla najlepszego gitarzysty w finale zespołów. W przypadku naszej reprezentacji nie uczestniczymy w tych zawodach (Boogie Boys, którzy moim zdaniem maja wielkie szanse na finał, nie maja w składzie gitarzysty ). Dla porzadku podaję nagrody:

IBC2009 odbędzie się w dniach 4 - 7 lutego 2009 r.

Niezależnie od konkursu, mam zamiar, wraz z Chicago Blues Revue poszukać w Memphis i okolicy sladów działalnosci patrona naszego Klubu, legendarnego T.B.Kinga. Mamy zamiar zarejestrować wszystko na DVD, zarówno sam konkurs, jak i nasze poszukiwania.
Kto chce, może już zamówić taka płytę pod adresem: bluesclub@tbking.eu. Do płyty dołaczona będzie buteleczka z autentyczna "Muddy Mississippi Water". Cena zestawu: 70 zł., w tym bilet na loterię, która odbędzie się w trakcie finałowego koncertu IBC2009, a w której nagroda jest gitara GIBSON z autografami najlepszych wykonawców bluesowych z Ameryki!

Jeszcze mocno ogłuszony podróża Memphis-Charlotte-Monachium-Warszawa i utrata połowy dnia (na szczęscie lecac do Memphis zarobiliœmy pół dnia spieszę poinformować wszystkich Przyjaciół, że Kurson nic nie przesadził z okresleniem "było fenomenalnie".
Najpierw jednak wyniki:
1/. Boogie Boys jako Nr 1 z 10-ciu zespołów grajšcych w B.B.King Blues Club na Beale Street w Memphis, Tennessee weszli do scisłego finału International Blues Challenge2009 .Tym samym sa pierwszym polskim zespołem, który pokonał miejscowe zespoły w sposób wymierny. Jestem pełen podziwu, bo cała złosliwosć przedmiotów martwych mieli przeciwko sobie - w obu koncertach (w tym w finałowym) grali na zdezelowanych instrumentach (w B.B.King wygrali, majšc martwe 4 klawisze w pianinie, na którym grał Bartek. W Wielkim Finale najpierw pianino Bartka nie grało, potem pianino Michała nie grało i musieli dwa razy zaczynać koncert. Co to znaczy dla muzyka - nie trzeba wyjasniać. Ostatecznie piano Michała (elektryczne) zostało nagłoœnione przez mikrofon, zbierajacy dŸwięk z małego, wbudowanego głosniczka! W efekcie B.B. musieli na goraco zmieniać "ustawienie" całego show, bo tym razem pianino Michała nie nadawało się prawie do niczego, a przecież zawsze na tym pianinie graja swój popisowy numer we dwóch...I w takich okolicznoœciach dali trzy fantastyczne koncerty! Moim i wszystkich z którymi rozmawiałem zdaniem droge w swiat majš otwarta (własnoręcznie przekazywałem Bartkowi zaproszenia na festiwale w USA, Kanadzie i Francji - słynne Blues sur Seine)
Opisuję to dokładnie, bo znajac skromnosć Boogie Boys wiem, że nie pisna ani słowa o przeszkodach, które musieli pokonać, a także, że nie moga sami siebie chwalić. Tak więc raz jeszcze podkreslam BOOGIE BOYS odniesli ogromny, fantastyczny i zasłużony sukces w samej Jaskini Lwa, czyli na 25-tym International Blues Challenge 2009 w Memphis, Tennessee, USA.

2/. Chicago Blues Revue - Antek i Witek podbili serca zarówno publicznoœci, jury jak i bluesowych muzyków obecnych w Memphis! Z niecierpliwoœcia czekam na karty ocen jurorów, bo na moje wyczucie byli bardzo blisko finału! Tak m.in. powiedziało mi 2-ch członków jury (jeden z nich powiedział nawet, że powinni znaleŸć się w finale!). Zagrali œwietnie, ale prawdziwym szokiem dla wszystkich stał się ich sceniczny show. WyobraŸcie sobie, że do Memphis przyjeżdża 2-ch nastolatków z Polski, wychodza na scenę i Kurson zapowiada: "Zagramy Wam prawdziwego, polskiego bluesa. Może nie wszyscy wiecie, że blues powstał w Polsce, a Wy ukradliscie nam to nasze dobro kultury...". Tak było na poczštku, a dalej doprowadzili jury i publicznoœć niemal do tarzania się ze œmiechu! Doœć powiedzieć, że zwycięzca kategorii Band, J.P.Soars, grajac już jako zwycięzca w "King's Palace Cafe" na Beale Street, przywitał Antka i Witka słowami "Hey boys! Do you know, that the blues was born in Poland?". I tak poszło w œwiat!
Ciag dalszy nastapi. Wszystko mam zarejestrowane na video i będzie dostępne w internecie.

Zgodnie z obietnica, natychmiast po otrzymaniu kart ocen jurorów z Memphis, publikujemy je dla potomnosci, oraz w celach naukowych, czyli jako pomoc w dyskusji kto i dlaczego powinien pojechać na następne konkursy IBC w Memphis.
Zanim klikniecie na poniższa tabelkę, która powinna się powiększyć, kilka słów objasnienia.
Punktacja. W każdej z 4-ch kategorii jurur ma do dyspozycji od 1 do 10 punktów. W regulaminie podzielono to na następujšce kategorie:
Punktów 1-3: Typical of the beginning blues band/ zespół amatorski
4-5: Typical of a local weekend band/lokalny zespół "weekendowy"
6-7: Typical of an advanced local band but not yet ready to headline a major blues clubs/ zaawansowany zespół lokalny, jednak jeszcze nie gotowy na występy w czołowych klubach bluesowych
8-9: Typical of the quality of blues artists who headline major clubs/Poziom artystów bluesowych występujacych w prestiżowych klubach bluesowych
10: Typical of those who play the main stage at major festivals such as Chicago or Arkansas Blues and Heritage/ poziom głównych scen na czołowych festiwalach takich jak Chicago Blues Festival czy Arkansas Blues Festival

Wynik: uzyskane od jurorów punkty mnoży się x 4 (za zawartosć bluesa), x 3 (za talent), x 2 (za oryginalnosć, czyli proporcja utworów własnych do standardów), x 2 (za prezencję na scenie).
Maksymalna iloœć punktów od jednego jurora (za ocenę 4 x 10) = 110

Jurorzy oceniajacy Chicago Blues Revue to m.in:
Mr Ken Hall to dyrektor Cotton Museum w Memphis.
Mrs Nora Tucker to znana w Memphis i nie tylko gitarzystka, keyboardzistka i wokalistka bluesowa.

Pozostałych jeszcze nie rozszyfrowałem.

Teraz możecie kliknać na tabelkę i czekam na komentarze. Bardzo byłbym ciekaw wyników Boogie Boys, bo to także byłaby ważna wskazówka dla przyszłych uczestników. Mam nadzieje, że PSB już dostało ich karty ocen i że nie będa mieli nic przeciwko publikacji.
